Sponsoring your family in Dubai: salary, documents and deposits

What the authority actually checks when you sponsor a spouse, children or parents, and the deposits nobody mentions.

Published 22 May 2026

Short answer

A resident earning AED 4,000 per month, or AED 3,000 plus accommodation, can generally sponsor a spouse and children. Parent sponsorship requires a higher income, a refundable deposit per parent and medical insurance.

Documents

Attestation is where most families lose time:

  • Attested marriage certificate for spouse sponsorship
  • Attested birth certificates for children
  • Ejari tenancy contract and DEWA bill
  • Salary certificate or attested labour contract
  • Medical insurance meeting DHA minimum cover

Timeline

Expect 5 to 12 working days per dependant once documents are complete. Start attestation in your home country at least a month before you plan to apply.

Rules and fees change without notice. Confirm your specific case with us before you pay anything — we check the current authority requirement the same day.
